Giving back to those in need is something we’re deeply passionate about here at Morris Spine & Sport. Our compassion goes beyond the care of our patients and extends to our community. That’s why we chose to hold a coat drive to benefit Market Street Mission. The Mission “cares for immediate needs today and long-term needs for a stable, independent tomorrow.”
About Market Street Mission’s History
David Scott, the Mission’s executive director, writes, “Since 1889, the Mission has been a refuge for those facing poverty, homelessness and addiction. In fact, it was a visionary woman who, together with her husband, saw the great need for a free residential program for men struggling with alcohol. To help, they opened the doors at 9 Market Street — and the Mission has been serving those in need ever since.”
The Mission provides the following services:
- Emergency services
- Addiction recovery program
- Community counseling services
- Chapel and weekly meetings
Providing a Hand up
Our team is committed to engaging with the community and addressing the critical needs of those who are underserved. “Market Street Mission continues to do tremendous work to meet the needs of many men struggling with addiction, chronic homelessness, unemployment, and mental illness,” said Dr. Case.
As temperatures have dropped into the 30s and 40s at night, our practice feels compelled to rally and ensure our vulnerable population has something warm to wear.
Thank you in advance for participating in the coat drive and helping change the lives of those in need. Your warm support will go a long way toward making a difference!
